Global opportunities for learners

Our Engineering qualifications are recognised globally

International recognition means former City & Guilds learners are able to apply for jobs abroad. This recognition is further enhanced by the Europass Certificate Supplement our engineering graduates receive. This supplement provides an overview of their skillset and can be beneficial when seeking employment in other countries.

Our Engineering qualifications – a path to jobs

Our Engineering qualifications are accepted by companies, higher education institutions and governments in many countries, giving graduates the best chance of success.

To offer job-ready qualifications, we have worked with employers, universities and professional bodies to create a job-focused, current and innovative portfolio.

Our Engineering qualifications can lead to higher educational degrees

Our work with colleges and universities also enables our Engineering graduates to progress directly into higher education courses. International learners who obtain our levels 4 or 5 Engineering qualifications can apply to join select UK undergraduate courses in the 2nd, or 3rd year (of a 3 year programme).

The following higher educational institutions recognise our qualifications:

  •  Derby
  • Northumbria
  • Sheffield Hallam

Our Engineering Qualifications – Path to UK professional registration

We have worked with the UK’s leading professional institutions to ensure that our level 6 and level 7 engineering qualifications are aligned with the requirements for Incorporated Engineer (level 6) and Chartered Engineer (level 7) registration.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) welcome applications from holders of the Graduate Diploma (level 6) and Postgraduate Diploma (level 7) who wish to apply for Incorporated Engineer (with the Graduate Diploma) or Chartered Engineer (with the Postgraduate Diploma) registration under the individual application route.
