T Levels – A qualification that counts
T Levels are a two-year programme available to 16-to-19-year-olds that follow GCSEs. With a combination of classroom/workshop-based learning and substantial industry placement, they aim to give you a head start towards the career you want.
The content within each T Level qualification has been developed with an impressive list of employers and industry experts to ensure these new Technical Qualifications equip you with the skills and knowledge that businesses want, preparing you for work, higher education, or an apprenticeship.
What’s involved in a T Level?
A T Level is made up of the following components:
- Technical Qualification (80% of the programme)
- Industry Placement (20% of the programme)
The Technical Qualification is made up of the Core Component and Occupational Specialism(s).
Learners will also be required to work towards the attainment of maths and English if they have not already achieved grade 4 at GCSE, as they do on other 16 to 19 programmes.
