Neil Dunn
I currently work as a Construction Trainer for Persimmon Homes PLC delivering bespoke courses to our Construction Staff. I entered the Construction Industry straight from school where I began an apprenticeship in Bricklaying with a local medium sized Building Contractor where I enjoyed a 10-year career eventually being promoted to a Site Manager. I am one of few people to gain a ‘Silver Trowel award’ for excelling during my Advanced Craft course.
After this 10-year career, I was lucky enough to gain a lecturers job teaching Construction in my local area. In the 30 years in Education, I have been very fortunate to meet and train so many people who wanted a career in the Construction Industry. My passion for wanting the best for the industry has led to me being involved with many national projects to help improve Teaching and Learning for those on Construction and Engineering courses.
In 2007, I became a Vice Principal for curriculum and this led me to become a Curriculum Consultant working in many colleges advising and demonstrating to them on how to improve learners’ experience on Construction and Engineering courses.
Eventually I took early retirement, (this lasted only 2 months), but the passion was still glowing and I wanted to re-enter the Industry that I started in and in turn I joined Persimmon Homes.
